TooMuchFiction is the result of years of collaboration between guitarist Kevin Collins and drummer Pat Stanley. Since 1993, this duo has remained the tight nucleus at the center of a seemingly ever-evolving rotation of talented musicians. Their partnership has led the band through various phases, at times more pop, jazz, alternative or rock, all the while staying true to their vision of what defines good music and a good band
In addition to Kevin and Pat, TooMuchFiction also features Ron VanH on electric and acoustic guitar.
TooMuchFiction perform all original material that has been described as jazzy, alternative modern-rock. The music has been compared to bands ranging from Sarah McLachlan to The Police to Missing Persons to The Sundays, and each member brings a wide, diverse range of influences to the mix.
The north bay based band brings elements of both old and new music, incorporates electric and acoustic guitars, guitar synthesizers, electronic and acoustic drums, samples and other interesting tidbits. The band has forged a unique and identifiable sound that can only be described as TooMuchFiction.

TooMuchFiction is seeking a talented, creative female lead vocalist.
We are an all-original, female fronted, jazzy rock band with some pop flavor.
We are 4 guys (40+ with careers) that have a long history and close to 3 hours of original material. We play regular gigs, released a 6 song EP ("twelve thirty four") in 2008, a retrospective CD ("... as far as YOU know!") in 2010, another full album ("dandelion dreams") in 2012 (all 3 on iTunes) and an upcoming CD of new material ("Looking In") to be released very soon.
We do music for fun and occasional profit - our motivation is to write, perform and record music we enjoy and hopefully others enjoy as well.

We are looking for a talented new singer who can craft and sing great vocal melodies, as well as write and/or co-write interesting lyrics. Our music has some substance to it, so be prepared to be challenged! You should be comfortable fronting a band on stage, and working a crowd.
You should also be prepared to learn a some of our back-catalog of material - we have a lot!
Attributes we would like you to have:
A strong voice
A great ear for melody
A positive and professional attitude
Ability to rehearse 1 night per week (currently Weds)
Ability to write or contribute lyrics is helpful
Reliable transportation
Ability to contribute towards rehearsal space cost (~ $40/mo)
If you play a musical instrument, we will consider adding that to our performances
If you have studio experience, that's a nice bonus!
