Hailing from the rural, music metropolis that is Denton, TX, Trebuchet is what one might expect; and yet the use of the proverbial phrase “and then some” would be a sufficient ending to that expectation. Indeed, those who do not use that proverbial phrase upon listening to this band should be checked for a pulse. Trebuchet dabbles in rock-and-roll to keep the music experience close to their roots. They dabble in the blues and jazz to keep it even closer to their roots. They even “dabble” in grunge, metal, and prog to show their roots. Do not be fooled by this lowly list of forms, however. These 5 gentlemen are constantly attempting to break these barriers and put their flag on their own sovereign ground. Powered by thick, melodic, dueling guitars, a ground shattering and dynamic rhythm section, and piercing vocals, Trebuchet does what they always have and always will do…just fu*king rock! No flashy pyrotechnics, no sparkly cat suites, and no midgets dancing around a mini-Stonehenge. With this quintet…what you hear is what you get as they believe it should be (“Video Killed the Radio-star” anyone?). This is why much is invested in the writing process to make the finished product smooth and sticky like lung butter. Alas, let’s leave the self-promoting bull-sh*t aside (we do believe in every previous statement…really we do) and let you the reader and potential listener decide for yourself if this discourse holds true.
