ABOUT

I’m a fair hand with a ukulele, and have also dabbled with the harmonica and tin flute. For the past few years, I’ve been having a fine time picking away with other uke players. But I think it'd be fun to play with another musical instrument or two (practically anything but guitars). I’m used to playing pop music (from any era), or folk or Celtic tunes.

I love the versatile, accessible nearness of a uke, and think it might match up well with other ‘parlor’ instruments (concertinas, accordions, flutes, fiddles, dulcimers, etc.). Guitars are nice, but they’re more of a ‘performance’ instrument, and so necessarily, a tad loud. I'd be happy just getting together to play. But if someone's interested in performing a bit in public, then I’d like to aim for something of a low-key, intimate vibe.

I work during the day, and haven't any great musical ambitions. But I would love to occasionally perform in public. It's nice having something to look forward to; something to give you motivation and direction.
