A seasoned, retired U.S. Navy Band drummer available for a working band, only. No one-off subbing. Open to start-ups, only with skilled members. Able to play a vast majority of styles, so laying down a hip groove for your band is not a problem. Extensive playing and world touring experience with the U.S. Navy Band, U.S. Navy Show Band (a’la Tower Of Power, Brecker Brothers), small combos & Big Bands of top professionals in the world. Opened up for major acts with Diahann Carroll, Harry Connick Jr., etc. Played with Japan’s #1 Big Band, the Eric Miyashiro (Lead Trumpet, Buddy Rich) Big Band in Tokyo. Audition FINALIST with the premier military big band (Jazz) in Washington DC, the U.S. Air Force “AIRMEN OF NOTE’, regarded now as one of the very best jazz ensembles in the world - The six groove style of my drumming are : 1. Fast Swing (Originally Latin groove by Jaco Pastorius) 2. Samba 3. Odd Meter Latin Fusion Rock 4. Time and Solo with fast swing Bass line. 5. Reggae Funk (Grolnick). 6. Rock. All played while with the U.S. Navy Band/Fusion Combo - Note : 1. Seeking bands that’s gigging 3-5 times/mo, consistently. 2. Sorry, no vocals.
