I'm always interested in new projects. If you think I could help you with yours, hit me up. My intent is to get out there and play. I’m not concerned about money, but I will gladly accept my share if there’s money to be had.
I’ve been a musician all my life. I play several instruments. I have great ears. I can typically pick up melodies and chord changes from hearing them. I read music. Can follow a chart. I have a profound understanding of music theory. I’m a constant work in progress. I practice every day. I’m friendly, punctual, and I take my commitments seriously. I’m a social drinker. I do not do drugs. I don’t judge others either.
Fiddle/violin:
This is currently my primary instrument. I have two. One is set up for “violining” the other is for fiddling. I prefer to play into a mic or acoustically, but I have a pickup that attaches to my bridge.
My home genres are old-time, jazz, and blues, but I'm open to most things. I’ve played multiple gigs with several bands. I've done several weddings solo too.
As a violinist I’ve played for the Trevecca and W.O. Smith orchestras. I play second violin.
Bass:
This is my favorite instrument in a rock band. I’ve been playing since I was a teenager. I’m a solid, competent, deep-in-the-pocket player. I’m not flashy. I don’t slap and pop, but I can lock in with your drummer and lay down a solid grove. I can play rock, metal, country, and blues. I’m open to other genres. I played up-right jazz in college, but that was a long time ago. I have a precision bass and a 350 watt amplifier with an XLR out. I’m ready to go. I could fill in tonight.
Piano:
I’m basically a blues piano player. I can lay down 12 bars in any key. I’m a good improviser. I’m not a good sight-reader. I used to be part of the Detroit Blues Society. I would sit in on open mic nights and play piano for people in any key they wanted. I own a piano. I don’t have a keyboard. It’ll be a while before I could get one.
Guitar:
I’m not going to blow anyone away, but I can play competent rhythm and lead. I’m naturally a fingerpicker, but can play with a pick. I can alternate bass pick (boom-chuck) along with any bluegrass song. I played a lot when I lived in Florida and would perform at a weekly open mic. My lead playing isn’t awesome but I can play leads on any blues, rock, or country song in any key. I have a steel string and a nylon string acoustic with a pickup I can attach. I have a tele, a strat, and a two-humbucker, fixed bridge, “Gibson-style” guitar. I have a Fender Blues Jr. amp with a distortion and tremolo pedal.
Singing:
I have a bass/baritone voice. I can sing and play guitar at the same time.
