Monty, Guy, Rocky, Rusty and Billy - better known as Crosscut Groove (formerly Mo-MoJo Blues Band) - will make you remember why you turned on the radio and cranked it up back when you could hear your favorites all day every day. Whatever happened to that? What we heard over those airwaves is the reason we picked up our instruments in the first place. We wanted to be a part of that magic. We've kept it going ever since and it just keeps getting better!
Great music is timeless. Ours is born out of the Blues and fired up with Rock&Roll and Soul!
Coming together from all over the USA we have seen, heard and played a wide variety of music. Now we are determined to continue our journey down the Blues/Rock&Roll Highway honoring those who lit the flame for us and keep us moving on!
Crosscut Groove is proof-positive that 'Good things come to those who wait.' Even more accurately - those who NEVER GIVE UP! Collectively rising from the ashes of our previous musical adventures we have joined forces to create the band we have always strived for: A Blues Lovin', Guitar Slingin', Fun Lovin' Band ! ! !

Monty Naffke - Guitar, Vocals
Monty has relentlessly sought out others who share his passion for the powerful, blues based, guitar-centric, British and American Blues/Rock music that has been the soundtrack of his life since early on - Allman Brothers, Clapton, BB King, Santana, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray and Pink Floyd to name just a few. Monty has been living and loving life here in the mountains of Western North Carolina since moving here from Florida in 2009 with his wife Melanie and their 2 children~ Monty and Molly."
Guy Rossi - Guitar, Vocals, Harmonica
Guy first started playing an accordion at the age of 7 and at 12 found his fathers vintage Martin guitar. Having lived through the ‘British Invasion’ Guy grew up loving R&B, Funk, Blues and Classic Rock and Roll. He has played in several bands in Upstate NY, recently moving to Asheville. His guitar influences range from Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Santana, The Three Kings, Robben Ford and recently Matt Schofield.
Guy played lead guitar in the official New York State D.A.R.E. Band – ‘Lightning’. Afterwards he owned and played in a very successful eight piece wedding and party band called ‘Rochester Brass and Electric’. He is happy to be playing with his "new" friends that appreciate the blues!
Billy Engle - Bass Guitar/Vocals
I started playing music in my father's bluegrass and country band when I was 13 years old. At age 15, I discovered I loved rock & roll. Needless to say rock was in my blood from that day forward. When entering high school my English instructor hired me to play in his professional rock / dance band. As I grew older I was fortunate to work in several nation wide opening act touring bands. Now I'm very lucky to be making music with my friends and band mates in Crosscut Groove.
