I'm more of a bedroom producer than a live performer, although I would like to change that. I am comfortable on guitar and drums, but I expect to make people happiest when I can arrange, mix, and layer music with them, rather than impressing anybody with my chops.
I am interested in making music as a form of expression first, and as something to take off more commercially second. I like pop music and I like to refine music, but I want to find someone who has things they feel that they want to record and focus on that - building something that feels real into something that sounds really good.
I've written a handful of proper songs I have not yet recorded and would love to have someone to help me refine and ornament them with me. I've uploaded a draft of one of them, would love to be able to play it with somebody. I am just as interested in your songs as mine. I would feel comfortable being the primary songwriter/composer or just playing things as written, or anywhere in between.
I know a good amount of theory, but I am not good at playing by ear. I know a lot of musicians communicate primarily by playing their instruments, but I cannot pick up chord progressions or melodies on the fly that way, and I prefer having a verbalized idea of what kind of sound we're making.
I like to experiment with every aspect of music, and am as interested in playing acoustic ballads as I am in sound collage as I am in rock n roll as I am in harsh noise. My personal tastes are generally in the direction of something like Radiohead, with music written on guitar and layered meticulously, and generally sadder or darker vibes when I write things.
