To All of Our Friends & Fans,
Recently, True Cadence surpassed our 11th year anniversary as a band entertaining throughout Southwest Virginia! Although some of our band members have come and gone over the years, the heart and soul of True Cadence to create fun and enjoyment for others through music has never faltered or diminished.
As a musician, there is nothing more rewarding than to know that your music is enjoyed and desired by others. As an individual, it’s exciting and rewarding meeting awesome people and establishing new fans and friendships through music. For over 11 years, we in True Cadence have had the pleasure and blessings of both.
The past year was difficult for many. Covid was relentless. It took some family members. It took some dear friends. It took many businesses, events, and social gatherings. It took time with family, friends, and loved ones.
Those of us in True Cadence play music solely for the love of music, entertaining our fans, and meeting new friends. Unlike many awesome musicians in Southwest Virginia, music is not our sole income. Therefore, it is with mixed emotions that we have decided to end the True Cadence era at 11 years. Now that Vaccines permit, many of us want to break from performing, and spend time with our families and friends whom we have missed dearly over the past year.
For the past 11 years, we have been blessed with great times and great new friends, neither of which we would have without performing as True Cadence. We thank you!
Please do not think that you will never see us again! Although 2020 and Covid has made us realize how short life can be and how valuable time with family and friends will always be, music remains in our veins. Music will always be a part of each one of us. There is no question that you will see each of us playing music again. Whether together, in a new project, a different band, or just simply helping other band friends when they need someone to temporarily fill in, you will see us. Just like the song our own Melissa Kaye wrote, music is our “Therapy”, and we need it in our lives.
