Wannabe Jazz drummer. Been playing since I was a kid, got away from it due to life and career but bought myself a kit for my 50th birthday. Recently had a chance to have an impromptu jam session with a young sax player at a wedding and had a blast. The last minute of it can be seen on my page. I would love to have that experience again with like minded players. There's no ego here and I'm highly adaptable: happy to sit back and provide backing rhythm and improvise or drive the other players in double time and work up a sweat! I just want play, learn, and hone my skills and have some fun and see where it leads.

Influences
Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Buddy Rich, Dave Brubeck, Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz, Max Roach, Joe Morello, Stan Kenton, Brian Setzer Orchestra and others as well as some rock dummers thrown in. I'm a product of the jazz my dad listened to that I heard as a kid. Over the years I banged around in a few pick-up garage rock bands playing 70's & 80's rock with friends but jazz drumming seems to be where my heart is.

EQUIPMENT
Yamaha Stage Custom 5 piece birch shell: snare, bass drum, 2 mounted toms, and floor tom with natural light wood exterior finish. Zilgian cymbals: 1 fast crash, 1 medium crash, 20" sweet ride, 13" hi-hat....I think.
