ABOUT

B MONEY, born to an American mother of Irish heritage and an American father of something else, thus began life as he was destined to live it…going in a few different directions at once. A slightly above average salesman by day, this restless middle-aged man grew quickly dissatisfied with a life devoted solely to capitalism. He roamed the DMV studying martial arts and Clancy Brothers songs, collecting around him a most eccentric group of friends, those hard-rocking musicians the Clancy Brothers Revival.

And now, with his astounding band ready for a bold assault on the metropolitan area, B MONEY faces the greatest challenge of his mediocre life…

…while high above Earth, a human satellite keeps a normal watch on Team B MONEY's very few moves…

Open to drink and jam and see if we get along. I'm no pro singer, but what I lack in skill I make up for in loud enthusiasm once I'm well lubricated on whiskey and beer. (Like Pogues or Dropkicks) Need a lead electric guitar player & drummer to do a jam session. My idea after being forced into spending the ~2 covid years alone in my bar collecting on e-bay and singing / memorizing enough Clancy Brothers records songs from their songbooks, and then after belting them out as the tipsy bartender in my punk rock looking sleeveless Irish sweater vest to guests of my annual St. Patty's Day parties once they started back up again and they all seemed to be rather amused by it all, was why not kick it up a notch and see what happens if I took to a real mic and had a band backing me up maybe for my next party as a surprise or if it works right to gigs maybe at Irish pubs and such and who knows from there. Clancy's after all were just 4 guys with an acoustic guitar, with sometimes a little whistling, harmonica, and flute thrown in. But I want to electrify it and go a bit bigger in the rock direction, like Metallica's cover of Whiskey in the Jar. Well maybe not that big, but you get the idea, and if it sounded not so great because I'm (or we're) not pro, then take it instead down the punk route where it's not contested if it's not perfect sounding because F it I don't care and I'm just drinking and having fun anyways right, and maybe making money along the way. As long as it sounds good enough and I got the lyrics down more or less I just think it would be fun to see what happens and it ends up sounding like by putting a rock/punk spin on one of my favorite Irish folk groups. And if it all works then it's a unique sellable even gimmick as a cover band with already written by the Clancy's enough songs that we could play full sets / gigs right out the door etc. But I don't want to be just another Irish folk or rock or punk group, there are plenty of those. Would rather it be like the Monkeys were to the Beatles which ironically worked out pretty well for them in the end, specifically with that 1 cover band of the Clancy's in mind start to finish where I could even mix in their old intros to the songs and jokes they have on all their records for the full immersive experience, not a perfect reproduction of course but good enough to be funny and make them reminisce a little if they liked/remember the Clancy's. Anyways there's 2 music songbooks on Amazon or e-bay for the Clancy's which have the sheet music and words, and I have both, and I'd say I probably have about 10 of the best of their songs down more or less pretty fully, with another 10 or so not that far off but that I could swing it like a punk singer if had to, messing up a little here and there. I'd like the choruses to be sung by or at least with my other bandmates backing me up, but those aren't hard to memorize really, just so I can get a breather as well it's crazy the pace sometimes like Rocky Road to Dublin by them for example I would never want to cover that's just too much to remember and too fast to sing it. But again still first kinda just need to find a lead electric guitar player and drummer then it would make sense all together to do a meet up and practice session I guess to see if we all fit. Worst case scenario we all end up just drinking in my bar and call it a night which aint bad for me either. Maybe I should place an ad "Have you got Irish soul? If so, the hardest working band is looking for you. Contact B MONEY. Rednecks and southsiders still can apply." haha I guess stay tuned I'll see if anyone comes along and is interested in my idea. Thanks for reading and rock on!
