ABOUT

[.JamesAustenMusic] James Austen grew up in the suburbs of southeast Michigan. His small-town life was occupied by his guitar and driven by his musically talented family. James? first band, formed at age 16, was the "3rd Generation" of musical talent. After writing alternative/punk music for many years, James Austen found his niche to lie in country music.
However, old habits are hard to break! James synchronized the country in his blood with the punk rock of his past into his new collection of writing. His début album "Getcha Some" is a creative blend of country and punk that challenges the limits of the country music genre with a refreshing originality in his writing.
James Austen performed as a special guest at 99.5 WYCD Detroit?s country radio in February 2012; where he rocked the house and set the record for the largest in studio audience?ever. NSAI (Nashville Songwriters? Association International) praised his talents stating,

"....wow...punk country...very interesting and different...very unpredictable and cool. I can honestly say I've never heard this style in a country song before..I liked it...it is interesting...catchy, the first country punk writer/artist...I'm looking forward to hearing more. Musically it's very unique..."

The aftershock following James? performance was a wave of phone requests for his first single release "Girl in a Truck" and received multiple airplays on southeast Michigan?s country music radio dials. Addicting guitar riffs supplemented with clingy lyrics in songs like "Getcha Some" and "Country People" are certain to have you unknowingly tapping the beat and singing along. His musical talents are pioneering new terrain in country music with unique and trend setting sounds. Fueled by his limitless, ?work hard party harder? country boy attitude; music by James Austen is burning the country music scene at both ends! Contact at jamesaustenmusic at dot com.
