Drunken Banshees was formed at the tail end of 2007 in Lusaka, Zambia by three American 20-somethings living and working in the country. The band began writing songs with a Celtic Punk feel but slowly found the niche in the world music scene playing melodic hardcore/punk with influences coming from such bands as Pennywise, Lifetime, Bad Religion, Fenix TX, and Strike Anywhere. The band has recently relocated to the Washington D.C. area.
The band is currently scheduled for a Zambia tour in July, 2009 and will be recording their debut full length "Beer Built The Pyramids" in early 2009. The band has been featured on Skratch Magazine's Volume 38 Compilation and is slated to be featured in the upcoming issue of Punk Rock Confidential.
