I've been living abroad for 20 years, but now I am back in Tulsa and want to start singing again. Years ago I sang in jazz bands, classic rock and pop bands in Jopin and Tulsa. My taste has always run to the bands listed below... jazz, west coast jazz, light funk, R&B, groove, singer/songwriter. I would love to find a way to combine these genres. I have a great work ethic, love to practice, love to work with good musicians, it's all about the music. Low ego factor. Looking for people with chops. And the feeling. Would love to find a band where I could sing some songs, have some instrumentals, horns or woodwinds would be amazing, my nephew plays the marimba so there's that. I sing mostly alto, chest voice, . I would like to play cocktail hours, supper clubs, events, bars, whatever. I have booked bands before and have a marketing background so I like that side of things. All over the place but here goes: Steely Dan, Donald Fagan, Snarky Puppy, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Al Green, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Diana Krall, Kurt Elling, Gregory Porter, Miles, Cal Tjader, Willie Nelson Stardust Jazz, Ella Fitzgerald, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt, Boz Skaggs, Michael McDonald, James Taylor, Sam Cook, Billie Joel, Shawn Colvin. Just starting to get into Alt R&B and I love it. So atmospheric. I know we could put some great sets together with these influences, even doing some songs in different styles.
